White next-gen iPhone shows in more complete form

Posted on May 24, 2010

The existence of new white iPhones gained credence with a post this morning showing the panels accompanying the phone itself. While not fully attached, it shows that Apple is not only planning a white front faceplate but that it will have a color-matched home button. Photos haven’t been shown of the back, but it’s presumed this should also be white.

Apple has had white iPhones ever since the iPhone 3G was released, but it has always had a black front panel. The reason for the change isn’t clear, but the design change many have been an opportunity to add more color or may have made a front white panel easier to produce. [via App Advice]
